Types of loading a vehicle
Types of loading a vehicle
Violation of the rules for loading and placing cargo in a trailer can lead to its damage. Therefore, transport and logistics companies strive to comply with the rules and use the most convenient and safe methods for loading pallets into the trailer. Special loading programs for a trailer can help with this, or the sender can do it online on the website of the transport company.
Main points of loading cargo onto a vehicle
To ensure that the cargo reaches the recipient intact, you need to follow the rules at each stage:
- Packaging
- Layout scheme of the cargo
- Loading
- Fastening inside the trailer;
- Transportation;
- Unloading.
First, the heaviest goods are usually loaded first (and usually down to maintain stability). Lighter, piece goods, and fragile ones are placed on top.
Fragile goods requiring careful handling must be marked and arranged on pallets so that the marking is visible.
For securing cargo, metal cables and wire, which can violate the integrity of the packaging and hence the cargo itself, are not used.
But it is also important to load the trailer correctly. And, depending on the type of transport, the type of loading may be side, upper, or rear.
Upper loading
This method is rarely used and is possible only if the trailer is covered by a tarp.
The way of upper loading into the trailer is used for large oversized goods using a crane loader. In other cases, other types are used, since upper loading is a long and complex process. After all, you first need to remove the entire tarp from the trailer, and after loading, install it back. But if it is necessary to load huge machines or metal products, another method is impossible.
Rear loading of cargo transport
This is the most common method because it allows manual or with the help of loaders to load any type of product:
- Bulk;
- On pallets;
- In containers.
It's enough just to open the rear doors and load the trailer.
Side loading of freight transport
This is also rarely used as it requires removal of the side panels. For such loading, loaders are usually used - manually, the process will be long and expensive. This method is used only when loading from behind and from the sides is not possible.
The method and loading scheme of the vehicle are always indicated in the documents, as the unloading method is always the same as the loading method.
With the Garpix Load System cargo space planner, you can most effectively solve issues of optimization of cargo transportation.
